Sancerre

Sancerre is extends over 2800 hectares grouping 14 communes on the right bank of the Loire, in the natural area of the hills of Sancerrois.
The hills spare the terroirs of the rain and wind, which makes the grapes more mature, made from the Sauvignon Blanc grape variety enjoys an excellent reputation with fine, tender and fruity wines with peach and lime aromas.

The canal of Briare.
It is the first summit-level canal to use pound locks, it connects the Loire Valley to the Seine River. It was built in 1606 under the reign of Henri IV, however it will start to be used under Louis XIII
